Parent Meeting a Success
April 1st, 2008A mandatory parent meeting for all football players and their parents was held on Thursday night, April 17th, in the DCHS school cafeteria. Ninety-nine players attended the meeting and 92 of them brought at least one parent along. Coach Purnell introduced his coaching staff, team trainer and team physician. He also covered the spring and summer schedule and informed all in attendance that everyone is required to attend 30 of the 34 summer workouts. Those who do will have their names on the back of their jerseys this fall. Those who don’t will not. In addition, those who don’t will lose the rights to their jersey number. Coach Purnell also announced that there is a renewed dedication among the coaching staff and their feelings are that the Jaguars have a chance to be a team to be reckoned with this coming fall.
